EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Town Council previously held work sessions on Sept. 15 and Oct. 20 to review and discuss the proposed 2026 - 2042 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The proposed CIP outlines long-term investments in the Town’s infrastructure, facilities, and community amenities to support Vienna’s strategic goals and service priorities.
For bond year 2026 project requests, the proposed CIP includes approximately $8.5 million in meals tax funded projects, $9.2 million in water and sewer infrastructure projects, and $12.5 million in projects supported through grants, partnerships, and other funding sources.
Adoption of the 2026 - 2042 CIP establishes the Town’s capital investment plan and authorizes staff to proceed with next steps for the 2026 bond-funded projects. Following adoption, the Town Council will hold a public hearing on Nov. 10 to consider the bond ordinance related to the 2026 projects, with an anticipated bond closing in December.
