EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Town needs to carry forward purchase orders that opened in fiscal year 2025, but not completed until fiscal year 2026.
These adjustments to the fiscal year 2025-26 budget are called supplemental appropriations and are expected to exceed 1% of the fiscal year 2025-26 general fund budget, mainly related to delays in vehicles ordered but not delivered. As such, a public hearing is required in accordance with the Code of Virginia, section 15.2-2507.
The number of supplemental appropriations requested for the General Fund total $1,705,484, which consists of:
• $1,547,959 for vehicle purchase carryforwards
• $157,525 for other purchase order carryforwards
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend holding a public hearing and adoption of the supplemental appropriations submitted.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend holding a public hearing and adoption of the supplemental appropriations submitted.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Attorney recommends holding a public hearing if the Town Council wishes to consider the adoption of the supplemental appropriations as submitted.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council close the public hearing and adopt the amendment to the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 General Fund Budget, as presented.
