Town Council Top Priorities for 2025

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY: Council Member Brill asked that all Town Council Member submit their top priorities for 2025 by January 17, 2025. Responses from Council Members are below:
Anderson-
Park Master Plan
Diversity in Housing Options
Zoning Ordinance
Aquatics and Fitness Center
Brill-
1. Complete the Parks Master Plan this year and make final decision on the use of the
annex property.
2. Complete light synchronization on Maple Avenue.
3. Update our communication strategies and materials to ensure consistency and
clarity in our engagement with our town residents.
4. Begin construction this year on the 444 Maple Ave. property or vacate the
Hekemian permit; and then strengthen our ordinance as needed.
Ramakis-
1. Communication: Update our communication strategies and materials to ensure
consistency and clarity in our engagement with Vienna residents.
2. Annex Site: Decide the use of the Annex site on Center Street.
3. Comprehensive Plan: Finalize the updated vision for Vienna.
4. Light Synchronization: Complete the improvements to the lights on Maple
Avenue to promote mobility in the town and reduce congestion.
Mayor Colbert-
1. Annex Site - make decisions, move forward
2. Fix and maintain streets and town owned land:
A. Maple and Church Crosswalks
B. Parks
C. Sidewalks on Maple and Church including brick walls
D. Landscaping on Maple and Church
3. Make decisions using the Parks Master Plan
4. Communications:
A. Develop a cohesive TOV messaging plan with colors, type and logo that is consistent
throughout all departments
B. Add a tree and maybe the W&OD trail to the town logo - these are two things that the
town treasures
C. Finish the update to the TOV website
D. Explore Vienna website - different colors, how to find it? Who uses it?
E. Vienna Connect - people still do not know about it - it needs to pop up on main page
- also another VV article?
F. Vienna Alerts - same as above
