Changing the November 10 Meeting to a Town Council Meeting and the November 17 Meeting to a Work Session

The Virginia General Assembly has changed its pre-filing deadline from the first week in December to mid-November. The impact on the Town of Vienna is with the timing of the adoption of the Legislative Agenda, which should occur prior to the pre-filing deadline if the Town Council wants to have its legislative priorities considered by the General Assembly. To have the Town’s Legislative Agenda adopted in time to be submitted for pre-filing, the Town Council should make Nov. 10, 2025, meeting a Town Council meeting and the Nov. 17, 2025, meeting a work session.
Both dates have already been approved by the Town Council as a meeting night, although those nights were established for different purposes. Making this change allows the Town Council to approve their legislative priorities and then submit them to the General Assembly in its pre-filing process.
