Recommendations to Board of Zoning Appeals on request to amend an existing Conditional Use Permit, and to Town Council on request for modifications of site plan requirements for Green Hedges School, located at 415 Windover Ave NW, in the RS-12.5 Zoning District.

This item is a continuation of the discussion from January 14, 2026, of the two applications from the Green Hedges School to 1) amend an existing Conditional Use Permit (CUP), and 2) request modifications of site plan requirements. On January 14th, the Planning Commission heard presentations from staff and the applicant and then input from community members. After a brief conversation, the Commission decided not to vote on its recommendations but instead to continue the discussion to January 28, 2026. More detail can be found in Attachment 1, the Staff Report, which also provides a list of the attachments.

Recommended Action

 

1)                     Conditional Use Permit (Recommendation to the BZA)

 

Option A - Recommend Approval

 

"I move to recommend approval of the amendment of the conditional use permit to the Board of Zoning Appeals for Green Hedges School, located at 415 Windover Ave NW, in the RS-12.5 zoning district, described as tax map 0383 21 0008A as proposed by the applicant as of its January 23, 2026, communication.”

Option B - Recommend Approval with Additional Conditions

 

"I move to recommend approval of the amendment of the conditional use permit to the Board of Zoning Appeals for Green Hedges School, located at 415 Windover Ave NW, in the RS-12.5 zoning district, described as tax map 0383 21 0008A, with the following conditions:
