EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works (DPW) requests approval to spend an additional $221,000 utilizing IFB 22-05 with Arthur Construction to continue paving and roadway maintenance work within the Town of Vienna. The additional funding is related to a recent state (VDOT) surplus allocated to the Town for road maintenance.
DPW prioritizes paving projects based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and coordination with concurrent Town projects and repairs. This work aims to continually improve the overall PCI. Specific project locations will be selected from among those on the attached list which is continually updated based on changing pavement conditions and coordination with other Town projects. Impacted residents will receive a notification with additional information and points of contact before construction.
The Town is receiving extra funds this year from VDOT, so that money needs to be spent in paving.
