Request approval to ride District Department of Transportation (DDOT) contract for Meadow Lane Park Site Survey and Site Plan Submission with Kimley-Horn

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests approval to ride a contract with DDOT for providing site-survey services for Meadow Lane Park and preparation of a site plan submission related to replacement of the existing restroom building at Meadow Lane Park with Kimley-Horn and Associates in the amount of $39,500.
The existing restroom building was built approximately 1962-1964. The Parks and Recreation department plans to replace the existing building with a prefabricated restroom building. The fixture count will increase from (1) each for men's and women's to (3) each for men's and women's and (1) for a family restroom. Domestic water, sanitary sewer and electrical service are expected to be in need of refurbishment to accommodate the proposed use.
Kimley-Horn will obtain services of a sub-consultant to perform site boundary and topographic survey work that will be necessary for the Meadow Lane Park restroom building replacement.
Kimley-Horn will also prepare a site plan and review for the area related to the proposed building replacement. The company will assist in identifying manufacturers of prefabricated buildings. Kimley-Horn will participate in meetings with the Town's Department of Planning & Zoning and Board of Architectural Review. The company will also assist with the construction phase services.
Adjacent property owners and residents will be notified of the Meadow Lane Park restroom building replacement
Funding
The Finance Department has allocated $200,000 to replace the restroom building at Meadow Lane Park through Capital Improvement Funding, 2020 bond.
