FY 2026 funding of contracts issued by other jurisdictions under the Virginia Public Procurement Act cooperative procurement provisions.

DATE(S) OF PRIOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF THIS ISSUE:
On June 3, 2024, Council approved the contracts issued by other jurisdictions in the amount of $2,170,000.
On July 8, 2024, Council approved the additional contracts issued by other jurisdictions in the amount of $215,000.
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works (DPW) uses numerous contracts competitively bid and issued by other jurisdictions as prescribed by Virginia State Law. At the end of the term, should any contract not be renewed, another municipal contract will be utilized, or work will be put out for bid. Any necessary approvals will be brought to Council for authorization.
Authorization to expend FY 2026 funds with the eight (8) vendors listed in the attached table is requested and contingent on Council approval of the 2025-26 budget.
Next Steps: Approve continuation of services utilizing contracts issued by other jurisdictions starting July 1, 2025.
Expected Completion Time Frame: FY26

Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval to utilize existing municipal contracts, accept renewals, and approve funding.
Finance Recommendation:
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride competitively bid contracts of other qualified jurisdictions and organizations under the cooperative procurement provisions of the Virginia Public Procurement Act, Virginia Code Sections 2.2-4300-4377. The Town Council may approve the use of the ridable contracts for the expenditures listed or direct staff to solicit bids in the Town Council's discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council continue utilizing municipal contracts, as presented.
