The purpose of this agenda item is to begin the discussion about whether to adopt a Town flag.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
Currently there is no official Town Flag that anyone can identify. A contest was held many years ago asking community members to submit designs for a Town flag. One was selected, but an official concept was never established.
OVERVIEW:
Like branding, developing a Town flag should be carefully considered as it is a part of the Town’s identity. The design should be simple enough that it conveys well in print, easily identifiable from a distance, and represent the Town in a meaningful way.
SUMMARY/STAFF IMPRESSIONS:
Vienna Town Council direction is needed to determine next steps with respect to developing a Town flag design.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff members request direction from the Vienna Town Council as to whether a Town flag is desired.
