Annual Re-adoption of Town Council Electronic Participation Resolution

The proposed Electronic Participation Resolution the electronic participation in meetings by members of the Town Council is consistent with the current Town Council Resolution. The format has been updated to be consistent with the recent rewrite of the state enabling code.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The General Assembly now requires localities to re-adopt their electronic meeting participation resolutions on an annual basis. The proposed Resolution is consistent with the current Town Council Resolution, and the format has been updated to be consistent with the recent rewrite of the state enabling code provision. A physical quorum of the Town Council is still required for all meetings.

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Attorney recommends the Town Council re-adopt the Town Council’s Resolution and Policy on Electronic Participation by members of the Town Council during situations other than declared states of emergency.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the proposed resolution and policy electronic participation of members of the Town Council of Vienna, as presented.
