Jan. 24, 2022, Council approved phase 1 ARPA projects.
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY: The Police Department is requesting approval to use American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to update the Town’s Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to the Enterprise version offered by Tyler Technologies. The Town is currently using version 10 of the CAD software and that version is being phased out during 2023. The quote from Tyler Technology for this upgrade is for $111,095, and adding in a contingency, the Police Department is requesting $130,000.
Departmental Recommendation: Department recommends approval to purchase the Enterprise Dispatch Software upgrade from Tyler Technologies.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Council may approve the proposed update of a legacy system or direct staff to solicit bids for a new system in the discretion of the Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the Police Department purchase of the Enterprise Computer Aided Dispatch software from Tyler Technologies, as presented.
Cost and Financing: $130,000
