Extend deadline for federal sub-award agreement for Covid-19 Municipal Utility Relief Program

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
On January 4, 2021, Council approved award of a Municipal Utility Relief grants to help cover delinquent water bills for customers whose delinquency is related to the pandemic. The total award from the state was $49,290.06, and originally expired January 29. With Congress’s extension of the deadline to December 31, 2021 to expend CARES funds, the Municipal Utility Relief grant’s deadline also was extended.
The finance department requests that Council approve an amendment to the subaward to extend the deadline for applying for a Municipal Utility Relief grant to December 31, 2021.
