Discussion about Partnership Options for Public Parking Facilities.

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
The Town Attorney, Town Manager and Planning Director will discuss with Council possible options and locations for a shared public parking garage.
OVERVIEW:
The Town’s Comprehensive Plan speaks to the need for a public parking garage to meet current and future parking needs in the Towns central core. Potential options include partnering with a public entity to build a joint facility or with private developers to secure additional public parking as part of a mixed use development. We need 250 to 300 spaces but they could be spread out in different lots with as few as 50 spaces. The Towns contribution would likely be approximately $20,000 per space, depending on the site.

It would be helpful if Council could provide direction as to the number of spaces that would acceptable and one large site vs several locations with smaller amounts of parking available.
