Title
Use of Right of Way and Telecommunication Facilities License Renewal by U.S. Federal Government
Body
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
As the successor in interest to Qwest and Lightwave Spectrum, Inc., the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers manages the telecommunication facilities for a federal government agency operating in the Town of Vienna. The existing facilities have been in use for some time and recently the federal government acquired ownership. The original license agreement expired, and the federal government renewed the license in 2021 for five years. The federal government wishes to continue the use of the right of way for its telecommunication facilities and has requested a new five-year license. No expansion or construction of new facilities is currently planned and there have been no operational issues between the Town and the licensees in the past.
