EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The tennis and basketball court lights at Meadow Lane Park were installed in 1990 and have since become dim, making it difficult to play tennis, pickleball, or basketball in the evening. Upgrading to modern LED lighting is necessary to improve visibility and ensure player safety. LED lights are also energy-efficient and will provide long-term cost savings.
The Town will contract with Musco Lighting to install an entirely new lighting-structure system from foundation to pole top. Improvements will include replacing four light poles and lamps with four new 40-foot, galvanized steel poles and a total of 12 LED fixtures. These poles and lights are very similar to the Musco poles and lights installed at Glyndon Park baseball field. Musco uses Total Light Control Technology which utilizes patented visoring to minimize spill light and glare, and custom optics and factory to help achieve more uniform light distribution.
CIP 2022 funding has been allocated for this project.
The Town is utilizing Sourcewell contract number 041123-MSL for services with Musco Lighting. Sourcewell is a cooperative procurement organization that combines the buying power of government, education, and nonprofit organizations.
