Body

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
On July 29, 2014 and September 30, 2014 the Transportation Safety Commission (TSC) heard public discussion regarding a citizen petition requesting traffic calming on Hillcrest Drive SW.

These discussions resulted in the approval of the following motion on September 30, 2014 -
* Two crosswalks should be implemented; one that crosses Marshall Road SW at the intersection of Marshall Road and Hillcrest Drive, and one that crosses Hillcrest Drive SW on the north side of the intersection.
* The TSC further recommends a reduced curb radius on both sides indicated with pavement markings at DPW's discretion.

Subsequently, on October 28, 2014 the Transportation Safety Commission (TSC) heard public discussion regarding a citizen petition requesting traffic calming on Marshall Road SW.

These discussions resulted in the approval of the following motion -
* The TSC recommends re-alignment of the center striping along Marshall Road from Ware Street to Delilah Drive to the center of the road and lane narrowing striping on both sides of the entire length of Marshall Road, except the north side of Marshall Road between Nutley Street and Delilah Drive.
* The relocation of the crosswalk at the intersection of Marshall Road and the north side of Ware Street to the east side of the intersection, and adding a new crosswalk at the east side of Avery Court.
* The installation of rectangular rapid flash beacon (RRFB) pedestrian signs at the Delilah, Pickett, and Ware Street intersection crosswalks.
* A curb and gutter bump-out on the southern side of the Ware Street intersection.
* The installation of a climbing bike lane on the south side of Marshall Road from Nutley Street to an end point between Kings Way Court and Ware Street at the discretion of DPW.
