The Police Department requests approval from the Town Council to Ride the NJPA contract #100614 for the purchase of Panasonic Arbitrator 360 in-car video from CDW-G
EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY: In November of 2013, the Town of Vienna was awarded a one-time asset forfeiture transfer from the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia, in the amount of $93,708.48. This transfer was intended for the purchase of an in-car video recording system for the Police Department patrol fleet.
The Police Department would like to purchase nine Panasonic Arbitrator 360 in-car video recording systems and all the associated accessories. The total cost of this purchase exceeds the transfer amount so the difference would be made up using current seized asset funds.
Departmental Recommendation: Approval
Finance Recommendation: Funded through State and seized asset funds. Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: The Town is a member of NJPA, and the contract is current and rideable. Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Attorney has worked with the Police Department to develop the appropriate protocols for the operation and retention of in-car video and recommends the proposed in-car video be approved. The Town Council may approve the proposed purchase using the NJPA contract or solicit bids in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve of the Police Department to ride the NJPA contract for the purchase of an in car video system as presented.
