BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
Each week the Police Department creates a summary of the calls for service, arrests and traffic crashes that occurred throughout the Town during that week.  This summary is called the Highlights and is issued via email and social media to a wide audience of employees, residents and anyone interested in signing-up for the distribution.       
 
OVERVIEW:
Previously the Highlights contained the names of those arrested.  After some discussion with Town officials in March of this year it was decided to run a pilot where the actual names of those arrested would not be contained in the document.  The Police Department would like to discuss leaving the names out of the Highlights or returning to the practice of including the names.    
 
SUMMARY/STAFF IMPRESSIONS:
Since changing the way the Highlights were written, the Police Department has received little feedback on the change.
