Public Hearing and Proposed Adoption of an Ordinance re-locating the polling place for Town elections.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
In anticipation of the renovations of the Vienna Community Center, the Town Council must designate a temporary polling place for the Town of Vienna local elections, currently held at the Community Center. Due to the temporary closure of the Community Center, the Town Council will need to designate a temporary polling place until the Community Center renovations are completed. A number of locations were considered and based upon consideration of central location, ADA access, and the recommendation of the Fairfax County General Registrar, the Vienna Presbyterian Church has been recommended as an acceptable temporary polling place.

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town must designate a temporary polling place for Town elections during the Community Center renovations. The Town Council may designate the Vienna Presbyterian Church as a temporary polling place in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve of the proposed ordinance to amend Chapter 2, Administration, adding new Article 6, Section 2-68, as presented.
