Request Approval of Lease between First Washington Realty and the Town for Parks and Recreation Department Relocation Expenses during the Community Center Project.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Parks and Recreation Department has secured rental space at Cedar Park Shopping Center for both administrative (1,050 sqft) and programming space (615 sqft). The cost is $15 per square foot. The lease runs for a 15-month term beginning in August 2015. The monthly rent is $2,081.25 and the full cost is $31,218.75. As you recall we have $50,000 budgeted in the Community Center renovation and expansion budget for moving expenses. This was reduced from $100,000 once we decided not to use rental trailers. The lease has been reviewed by the Town Attorney. In addition, First Washington is very flexible in case the lease dates (both start and finish) need to be adjusted.
Departmental Recommendation:
Recommend approval of the lease between First Washington Realty and the Town in the amount of $31,218.75 for 15-months.
Finance Recommendation: Funded through GO Bond Issue 2014. Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: N/A
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Council may approve the proposed lease for temporary office space for the Department of Parks and Recreation in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council authorize the Mayor to execute the lease between First Washington Realty and the Town for temporary administrative and programming space for the Parks and Recreation Department in amount of $31218.75 as presented.
