Request to review and accept the Public Infrastructure Manual

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
Assembling construction standards in one place avoids misunderstandings and helps the construction industry build public improvements correctly. The Town follows many detailed specifications and construction standards issued by Fairfax County and the Virginia Department of Transportation, however some are Vienna specific. The last Public Works Standards and Specifications manual was issued in 1999, is out of date and doesn’t meet today standards.
We request Town Council’s endorsement of the attached Public Infrastructure Manual.

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Council may approve the proposed Public Infrastructure Manual guidelines in its discretion.
