Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Vienna and Faith Baptist Church.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
Since 1990 the Police Department has had an informal agreement with Faith Baptist Church to utilize 10 parking spaces behind the church building. These spaces are required for daytime police personnel because there is inadequate parking in the front or rear of the police property. This memorandum of understanding formalizes the current arrangement while also adding the use of the church parking lot for people using Waters Field. In exchange for Town use of the parking lot, the Town agrees to allow the church to use the police department dumpster, provide basic lawn care for the church’s property, provide snow removal for the church parking lots and provide minor repairs to the parking lot.

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may enter into a Memorandum of Understanding and agree to a parking agreement with the Faith Baptist Church in the discretion of the Town Council.
