EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
In September 2012, Town Council approved an application for a $1,000,000 VDOT Revenue-Sharing Grant to construct sidewalk projects at several locations:
• Ninovan Road - Construction completed 2-14-2014
• W&OD Trail Connections - Construction completed 8-4-2014
• Moore Avenue SE - not started
• John Marshall Drive NW - Construction completed 12-30-2015
• Glyndon Street NE- Construction completed 11-13-2015
• Ayr Hill Avenue NE - Citizen design review meeting
• Ayito Road SE- Construction completed 11-13-2015
• Lewis Street NW- (Knoll to Windover) Canceled to avoid loss of thirteen 100+ year old Walnut trees lining old road.
All grant funds will be exhausted after design, geotechnical tests, and survey plats are prepared for the Ayr Hill Avenue NE project. The original 2013 grant is valid for only three years, and VDOT requires Town Council’s approval of the attached Programmatic Project Administration Agreement Extension Addendum.
Departmental Recommendation: Approve extension addendum.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval to continue grant funding.
Purchasing Recommendation: N/A
Town Attorney Recommendation: Town Council may approve the proposed VDOT agreement extension addendum in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the attached Programmatic Project Administration Agreement Extension Addendum as presented.
