Contract Renewal for SunGard Public Sector ASP Hosting Fees

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The current SunGard Public Sector contract for financial system hosting (ASP) and maintenance expired June 30, 2016. SunGard is the computer system the Town currently uses for Real Estate and Vehicle License billing. The ASP database hosting fees will be renewed for a one-year period to allow enough time for revenue system conversion to Munis and for archiving historical data. The Town’s contract also includes maintenance on eight system modifications for Real Estate and Vehicle License billing. These modifications are subject to a 3% increase over the previous contract year. The total maintenance cost of the modifications is $6,373.35, and ASP hosting fees are $43,896.00 for fiscal year 2016-17.
The Tyler Munis conversion and implementation is expected to be completed by the end of fiscal 2017, and no further SunGard maintenance will be required.
The total contract renewal fee for 2016-17 is $50,269.35

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may renew its current contract with SunGard in accordance with terms of the renewal provisions of the contract in the discretion of Town Council.
