Request approval to purchase a bobcat with snow blower for snow removal from sidewalks

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works requests approval of funds to purchase a bobcat with snow blower to be used by Town staff during snow season to clear the sidewalks. The bobcat will also be used year-round for other projects as needed. The bobcat will be purchased from Winchester Equipment Co., dba Bobcat of Virginia, riding Fairfax County Contract 4400003752 (expires 12/31/2018).
Departmental Recommendation: Approve purchase of the bobcat with snow blower in the amount of $23,970.
Finance Recommendation: Finance recommends approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: The Fairfax County contract is current and rideable.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride the Fairfax County contract for the proposed purchase of a bobcat with snow blower or solicit bids in the discretion of Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the purchase of the Bobcat with snow blower in the amount presented below.
