Approve Ninovan and Talahi Roads SE Drainage Improvements Design Contract.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
In June 2013, DPW completed a drainage assessment along the 600 block of Ninovan Road SE and 400 block of Talahi Road SE. As a result of the study, curb, gutter and storm drain improvements were recommended along the 400 block of Ninovan Road SE in order to reduce the amount of storm runoff that currently flows through the front and rear yards of homes along these blocks.
In September 2015, Council approved funding in the 2016 Capital Improvement Plan for a stormwater project in order to implement these improvements. Using our on-call engineering services contract (RFP-13-05) with Urban, LTD, DPW has requested a proposal for a survey and design of curb, gutter, and storm drain improvements. On July 1, 2016, DPW issued a purchase order to Urban in the amount of $19,500 in order to begin the survey and conceptual design work over the summer. The total contract amount for design of this project is $44,675. DPW requests an award of this amount plus an approximate 5% contingency, or $47,000, to Urban, LTD.
