EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Town Council recognizes Wanpen and Michael Ordonez as creators of a sustainable garden. Sustainable garden works in harmony with nature. Examples of sustainable gardening include organic gardening, using native plants, double digging, backyard composting and use of mulch. Sustainable gardens align with the Community Enhancement Commission’s duty to promote Vienna’s “transition to a sustainable community through education, community initiatives and policy recommendations.”
