Request approval to spend $9,785 on an 84” snow blower to go with VRP #144.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The 84” snow blower is an additional piece of equipment that will be used with the Bobcat Skid Steer loader (VRP #144) that was approved by Council on 09/12/16 in the amount of $61,511.
The snow blower will be purchased under Fairfax County Contract 4400003752. This is the third purchase with Bobcat of Northern Virginia for FY17; with the purchase of the snow blower, the total is $95,266 to date. Funds for this item will come from the snow removal account for heavy equipment.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval to purchase an 84” snow blower to be used with VRP #144.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride the Fairfax County contract for the proposed equipment purchase or solicit bids in the discretion of Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the proposed expenditure of funds as presented.
