Approve FY18 VDOT Revenue Sharing Resolutions

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
VDOT is currently accepting applications for FY18 Revenue Sharing grant funding for transportation projects. Applications are due November 1, 2016 for funding that would be available July 1, 2017.
DPW proposes to submit Revenue Sharing (50% state/50% local match) applications for:
1. Church Street NE sidewalk extension (300 block) from 350 Church Street NE to Glyndon Street NE.
2. Park Street NE sidewalk (300 block) from Ayr Hill Avenue NE to existing sidewalk at 353 Park Street NE.
In discussions, VDOT staff suggested that in order to increase the Town’s chances of acquiring funding it is acceptable and recommended to submit projects for multiple funding options. If either the Church Street or Park Street projects happen to be accepted for both Transportation Alternative and Revenue Sharing funding sources, they will accept only one.
The proposed local match required for these projects will come from available NVTA 30% allocation funding.
