EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
DPW Vehicle Maintenance requests permission to spend an additional $3,200 with Asphalt Zipper, original purchase order is for $99,060, making the total $102,260. The original purchase was approved by council 9/12/16. Additional funds are for an upgraded trailer that would accommodate both the new asphalt zipper and tilt attachment. Currently the tilt attachment is transported to the job site in the bucket of the loader. This upgraded trailer would make it safer and more convenient to transport the complete unit to the job site. If we do not purchase the trailer at this time, future cost will increase.
