EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:

Zachary Kaye purchased the home located at 503 Creek Crossing NE within Linncrest Subdivision in March 2017. The purchase also included a small lot to the northeast of the home. The small, 2,790 square foot lot is located within a different subdivision, Westwood View. The current owners wish to merge their lots and vacate the lot line between the two adjoining parcels for a future first-floor expansion.

Departmental Recommendation: The director of planning and zoning recommends approval of the request.

Town Attorney Recommendation: Pursuant to State Code Section 15.2-2204, Town Council may approve boundary line modifications between subdivisions after conducting a public hearing. Boundary line adjustments within a subdivision are usually handled administratively. Town Council may conduct a public hearing on the proposed boundary line modification in its discretion.

Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the proposed ordinance vacating the boundary lines of abutting Linncrest Lot 2 as presented.
