Request approval of vehicle purchases within the Vehicle Replacement Program for FY18

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works Vehicle Maintenance requests approval to purchase the following vehicles as outlined in the VRP:
* Police Vehicles #s7, 14, 18, 21, 13 and 24 under the Police Department, Patrol and CIS divisions. The estimated cost for the six (6) police vehicles was $234,929; the actual cost of the vehicles is $224,334.48. Sheehy Ford of Richmond was awarded Bluefield Virginia Police Department Contract C091412 for 2018 For Police Interceptor Utility and Sedans. Also, requesting to purchase six (6) Motorola Solutions Inc. police radios for $5,508.58/each for a total of $33,051.48 riding Stafford County Contract 1024064.
* DPW Water & Sewer Vehicle Replacement #69 (4X4 compact SUV) estimated amount of $20,557/actual amount $21,048.32 (eVa Contract E194-77834).
* Parks & Recreation Vehicle #90 (pick-up truck) estimated amount of $20,430/ actual amount $22,485 (Sheehy Ford of Richmond was awarded Bluefield Virginia Contract C091412 for 2018 Ford F150's).
* DPW Water & Sewer Vehicle Replacement #46 (pick-up truck) estimated amount of $20,430/actual amount $20,690 (Sheehy Ford of Richmond was awarded Bluefield Virginia Contract C091412 for 2X4 Ford F150 trucks).
The VRP estimates for total replacement cost of these vehicles was $329,397.48; actual cost will be $321,609.28.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: The contracts are current and rideable. Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride the referenced contracts for the proposed purchase of vehicles or solicit bids in the discretion of Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the proposed expenditure of funds for replacing the vehicles detailed in this document below, as presented.
