EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Information Technology Department requests approval to purchase software licensing for an upgrade to the Town’s email servers.
The current email servers have reached the end of their life cycles for support. This upgrade will make the Town’s email capabilities current with the latest technologies for email, scheduling, collaboration, and messaging services.
Departmental Recommendation: The IT department recommends approval of software purchase for this upgrade.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: The VA State contract is current and rideable. Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride the state contract for the proposed software purchase or solicit bids in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the purchase of software licensing as presented.
