Adoption of an ordinance relocating a polling place for Town elections back to the Vienna Community Center

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
With reopening of the Vienna Community Center, Town Council must re-designate the Community Center as the polling place for Town of Vienna local elections.

Town Attorney Recommendation: During expansion and renovation of the Vienna Community Center, Town Council temporarily moved the local election polling location from the Community Center to Vienna Presbyterian Church. The Community Center is now able to accommodate upcoming local elections, and the Town Attorney recommends the proposed Town Code amendment to restore the Town’s local election polling location to the Community Center.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council set a public hearing on December 11th to amend Chapter 2 as presented.

“I move to set a public hearing on December 11 to amend Chapter 2, Administration, Article 6, Section 2-68, Polling Place, re-designating the Vienna Community Center as the polling place for Town of Vienna local elections. I further move to direct the Town Clerk to advertise a public hearing and Notice of Intent to Adopt.”
