EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY

 

The Department of Public Works - Vehicle Maintenance requests to increase the purchase amount for VRP# 34.  The request for additional funds is to add LED-strip lighting in canopy areas (roof and under shelves) in compartments and under grab handles.  VRP# 34 is a general maintenance vehicle that will be used in various situations, including during evenings and traffic light outages, and the additional lights will be essential in these situations.

 

This adjustment will increase the price for the vehicle by $1,962 for a total cost of $29,380 for VRP #34.  This amount can be covered by the current capital lease for vehicle equipment.

 

Departmental Recommendation:  Recommend approval.

Town Attorney Recommendation:  Town Council may authorize and approve modification of the proposed vehicle purchase contract in its discretion.
