100 Block Patrick Street SW Permit Parking

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
Twice in 2017, the Police Department conducted parking studies on Patrick Street SW at the request of council after citizens expressed concerns about parking from the nearby apartment complex impacting Patrick Street.
OVERVIEW:
Both times the studies showed that the level of non-resident parking was not sufficient enough to reach the threshold for permit parking established by Town Code. However, when just the 100 block of Patrick Street was considered, the threshold numbers are met on several of the days.
SUMMARY/STAFF IMPRESSIONS:
Implementing permit parking in the 100 block of Patrick Street SW would solve the immediate problem being brought to council. The police department will need to continue to monitor the area to see if the problem just moves further down Patrick Street.
