EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
DPW requests to utilize Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP for Park St NE sidewalk improvements. The project is approximately 850 linear feet and will consists of curb, gutter, and sidewalk section along the north side of Park St NE between Albea Court NE and Ayr Hill Avenue NE.
This project is funded by a VDOT Transportation Alternatives grant with a local match, using local NVTA 30% funds.
Attached is a proposal and scope of work from Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, per the terms and conditions of RFP 17-02, in the amount of $51,752.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town has an engineering services contract with Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP, and Town Council may authorize the expenditure of funds in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council award an engineering services contract for Park Street NE sidewalk improvements to Whitman, Requardt & Associates as presented.
