EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
In March 2018 the Town issued a Request for Proposal (RFP #18-05) for architectural and engineering services for a new police department facility, which currently is planned to be funded in the 2020 Capital Improvement Program. This solicitation required all respondents to have experience designing police facilities.
Following presentations from the three top-rated responding architectural firms, Dewberry was selected. The Town then enlisted the assistance of ORR Partners in helping to negotiate scope, cost, and final proposed contract.
The Police Department requests that this architecture and engineering services contract be awarded to Dewberry.
Departmental Recommendation: Police Department recommends approval.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town has used the Request for Proposal bidding process for the proposed A&E services, and Town Council may award the proposed police headquarters A&E contract to Dewberry Architects, Inc. in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council award the architecture and engineering services contract for a new police facility to Dewberry Architects, Inc. as presented.
