Request to set a Public Hearing on Proposed Changes to the Community Enhancement Commission Code Provisions

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Community Enhancement Commission requests to change the name of the Community Enhancement Commission (CEC) to Conservation and Sustainability Commission. This name change and other possible amendments are more in line with the CEC’s goal to promote a culture of conservation and support Town Council’s goals of an environmentally sustainable community. This request is to set a public hearing in order to give the public an opportunity for input.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval.

Purchasing Recommendation: N/A
Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town Council may set a public hearing to obtain public input on the proposed Community Enhancement name and other provisions of the Town Code relating to its goals and mission in its discretion; however, a public hearing is not statutorily required.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council consider this item as a regular agenda item on November 19th because a public hearing is not required.
