Consideration of intent to adopt changes to the Community Enhancement Commission code provisions

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Community Enhancement Commission requests to change its name to Conservation and Sustainability Commission. This name change and other proposed code amendments are more in line with the Community Enhancement Commission’s goal to promote a culture of conservation and support Town Council’s goals of an environmentally sustainable community.
A public hearing on proposed changes to the Community Enhancement Commission code provisions was held at the November 7, 2018 Town Council meeting. Feedback from the public hearing and recommendations from Town Council were received. Town Council closed the public hearing and directed staff to bring revisions back to Council at its January 7, 2019 meeting.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend adoption of changes to the Community Enhancement Commission code provisions and name change.

Town Attorney Recommendation: Town Council has conducted a public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Town Code related to the Community Enhancement Commission, and Town Council may adopt the proposed amendments in its discretion.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council adopt changes to the Community Enhancement Commission code provisions as presented.
