Review and Revise Draft of 2019 Strategic Plan

BACKGROUND SUMMARY:
In January 2018, the Town began the process of updating its 2013-15 strategic plan. Working with former Prince William County Executive Craig Gerhart, Councilmembers have undertaken visioning exercises, conducted a force field analysis, identified major focus issue areas, and developed strategic goals. In support of Council’s efforts, staff have worked in teams to develop policy briefs for major focus areas and developed suggested strategies, objectives, and action steps for Council’s consideration. All of these efforts have now resulted in a draft strategic plan.
OVERVIEW:
At this work session, Councilmembers will offer feedback and revisions to the strategic plan draft with the hope that the plan will be ready to be considered for adoption at Council’s April 29 meeting.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that Council consider this a final review of the strategic plan before consideration for adoption and provide staff with “final” revisions and feedback.
