Presentation on status of Patrick Henry Library/Town of Vienna Public Parking Garage Feasibility Study

BACKGROUND SUMMARY AND OVERVIEW:
The Town of Vienna and Fairfax County have been engaged in a study, with lead consultants Grimm and Parker Architecture, Inc., to study the feasibility of a new library/public parking garage at the existing Patrick Henry Library site. The study began in January and is expected to be completed in July.
Grimm and Parker will present three different scenarios for the site. One scenario includes a new two-story library with required parking, but no additional public parking spaces; all parking is provided at-grade. The other two scenarios include a new library with additional public parking beyond what is required for the library, provided in a structured facility. Of these two scenarios, one is by-right with no variances or waivers required; the other scenario would require a variance to exceed the 35-foot height limit.
