Mashie Subdivision Performance Bond Extension Request

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
Michael Walker has requested an extension of the performance bond for public improvements, in accordance with Vienna Code Sec. 17-65, associated with the subdivision known as the Mashie Drive Subdivision. The current bond expires in October 2019. Construction is currently underway on this parcel. Since all bonded public improvements are minor and will be completed with the house construction, the Department of Public Works recommends that the bond be extended for an additional 18 months so that the remainder of public improvements may be completed.

Town Attorney Recommendation: Town Council may extend the time for completion of subdivision improvements in its discretion. Pursuant to Town Code Section 17-65.2, extensions beyond the initial 18 months require an updated estimate and bond.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council move to extend the public improvement bond for the Mashie Drive Subdivision, as presented.
