Adoption of changes to Town Code Chapter 1, Section 1-9.1, Fee Charged for Passing Bad Checks to Town

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Finance Department recommends changing Town Code, Chapter 1, Section 1-9.1, Fee Charged for Passing Bad Checks to Town to change the fee for bad checks from $20 to an amount not to exceed $50. A public hearing was held September 16 to allow for public comment. Following the public hearing, Council approved the change.
The Town intends to raise the fee for returned checks to $25. This change in the code allows flexibility if the Town wishes to raise the amount in the future.
The Finance Department requests that Council now adopt this change.
