Discussion of a Proposed 2020 General Assembly Legislative Agenda

OVERVIEW: Each year the Town Council meets with the Town’s state Senator and Delegate, receives public and staff input and then adopts a Legislative Agenda to submit to the Virginia General Assembly for consideration.
Attached is last year’s adopted Town of Vienna Legislative Agenda and a DRAFT Legislative agenda with some carryover items and a new proposed request for modifications to the Commonwealth’s statutes related to proffers.
SUMMARY/STAFF IMPRESSIONS: With flat or possibly declining state budget forecasts, it may be difficult to garner support for legislation with a state budget fiscal impact.
