FY 2021 funding of contracts issued by other jurisdictions

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works uses numerous contracts competitively bid and issued by other jurisdictions as prescribed by Virginia State Law. At the end of the term, should any contract not be renewed, another municipal contract will be utilized or work will be put out for bid. Any necessary approvals will be brought to Council for authorization.
The Public Works Department requests authorization to expend FY 2021 funds with the 14 vendors listed in the attached table, contingent upon Council’s approval of the 2020-21 budget.
Departmental Recommendation: Recommend approval to utilize existing municipal contracts, accept renewals, and approve funding.
Strategic Plan Initiative: Vienna is an efficiently mobile community and an environmentally sustainable community.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Purchasing Recommendation: Recommend approval.
Town Attorney Recommendation: Under the cooperative procurement provisions of the Public Procurement Act, the Town may ride the contracts identified in the attachment or solicit bids in the discretion of Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council move to continue utilizing the municipal contracts listed by the Public Works Department and to approved the corresponding $1,440,268 in expenditures for FY2021, contingent upon Council approval of the 2020-21 budget, as presented.
