The Police Department will present options for the plaza design of the planned police facility.

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
At its June 15, 2020 meeting, Town Council approved all necessary modifications for the planned new police facility. As part of that approval, a request was made to determine if greenspace could be increased and lot coverage reduced by altering the plaza design. The project team will present three options to Council:
1) leave the plaza as currently designed
2) make minor changes to the design, which will not impact project timeline or budget 3) request a total plaza redesign, which will alter the project budget and timeline.
Strategic Plan Initiative: Vienna is a safe community.
Departmental Recommendation: The Police Department recommends that Town Council select an option that will keep the project on time and on budget.
Finance Recommendation: Recommend selecting one of the first two options so that the project budget and timeline are not impacted.
Purchasing Recommendation: N/A
Town Attorney Recommendation: Town Council may consider the proposed design options in its discretion. If option three is selected, formal Town Council approval on the amount of funds authorized for the design change will be necessary.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve option #2, as presented.
