EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY

 

The Department of Public Works vehicle maintenance division requests approval to purchase the following vehicles as outlined in the VRP:

 

                     DPW Street Maintenance Vehicle Replacement #28 Street Maintenance Plow Truck - Navistar, Inc has been awarded Sourcewell Contract #080818-HPI (formerly NJPA - Contract #081716).  Actual cost for the truck is $149,078.33.  VRP estimated cost: $158,792.00.

 

                     DPW - Sanitation Truck #75  - Henderson Products Inc. has been awarded Sourcewell Contract #091219-THC.  Actual cost for the truck is $258,550.  VRP estimated cost: $272,588.

 

The estimated VRP total replacement cost of these vehicles is $431,380; however, actual cost will be $407,628.33.

 

Departmental Recommendation:  Recommend approval.

 

Finance Recommendation: Recommend approval.

 

Purchasing Recommendation:  Recommend approval.

 

Town Attorney Recommendation:  Town Council may approve the proposed expenditure of funds and use of the Sourcewell contracts or solicit bids in its discretion.

 

Town Manager's Recommendation:  I recommend the Town Council approve expenditures of funds in an amount not to exceed $407,628.33 for replacing vehicles, as presented.
