Discussion of a Proposed 2022 General Assembly Legislative Agenda

BACKGROUND SUMMARY: Each year the Town Council receives public and staff input and adopts a Legislative Agenda to submit to the Virginia General Assembly for consideration.
OVERVIEW: Attached is a Draft of last year’s adopted Town of Vienna Legislative Agenda. The Town Council met in a Conference Session on June 14, 2021, to review last year’s items to see which should remain and to discuss adding additional Agenda items. The Directors have been asked to provide any suggested Agenda items as well.
SUMMARY/STAFF IMPRESSIONS: Legislation with a fiscal impact should always be distinguished from legislation that does not have fiscal impacts (state or local).
RECOMMENDATION: The Town Council adopts its Legislative Agenda in its discretion usually in the early fall.
