Request approval for replacement of two in-ground heavy truck lifts

EXPLANATION AND SUMMARY:
The Department of Public Works (DPW) requests approval for the replacement of two (2) in-ground heavy truck lifts; one (1) Stertil-Koni ECO60-13 and one (1) Stertil-Koni ECO60-10 through Alan Tye & Associates, utilizing Sourcewell Vehicle Lifts & Associated Equipment - #013020-SKI contract.
The existing heavy truck lifts are more than 20 years old and have reached the end of their useful life. The existing lift pits retain ground water which causes rust and costly repairs on the substructure and lift cylinder components. The existing heavy truck lifts are unsafe to use.
On July 11, 2022, the Vienna Town Council approved a CIP reallocation of 2020 bond funds which granted $550,000 toward replacement of these vehicle lifts. The actual bid price is $504,712. When adding a 10% contingency to the price, the total requested amount is $555,183. Upon Council approval of this acquisition, a budget transfer in the amount of $5,190 will be initiated to fully fund the purchase.

Town Attorney Recommendation: The Town may ride the Sourcewell contract for the proposed truck lift replacements or solicit bids in the discretion of the Town Council.
Town Manager's Recommendation: I recommend the Town Council approve the proposed expenditure of funds for replacing the above-mentioned vehicle lifts in the amount of $555,183, as presented.
